welcome to 2023 with me, Life Coach Franzannie. When you're feeling stuck I help you get out of your own way so you can get what you want through one on one coaching sessions. Coaching gave me the courage to believe that I could have the life of my dreams and take the action steps to make it happen- I quit my job, sold my house and started my own business... Four years later- it's taking a lot longer and  a lot harder than I anticipated.

My theme this year is to Find What Feels Good so I can fall in love with the process... each week I pick a theme and every day I pick different topics to examine. I ask myself empowering questions to gain clarity and challenge myself to search for answers and new possibilities, which is what we do in a coaching session

This week I'm talking about how coaching changed my life- I feel like when I discovered coaching, there were some macro-level shifts that happened, which is what I'm talking about this week. Revisiting these macro level shifts, makes sure I stay aligned as I enter a new season in my life- hustle season.

Today, I'm talking about 3 major shifts: defining who you are, recognizing the thoughts in your head and practicing self-awareness without judgment.

The most valuable pieces of how I define myself that coaching taught me are:

  • values- recognizing
    • conscious- chosen VS
    • unconscious- given
  • recognize gifts- we're all pretty incredible

I was always someone who looked for and got stuck and can still get stuck around the "right" way to do things but the truth is that there are so many options- once heard the best workout routine is the one you'll stick to, in that vein, defining who I am in this season helps me:

  1. make decisions that are right for me
  2. action plans that align with me
  3. stay flexible

The next shift I made is recognizing the thoughts in my head. We are wired to protect ourselves, and so for me, I'm always trying to talk myself out of taking the insane amount of risks I take to live differently... It's been so important to see the fear for what it is to sustain resilience

The four types of thoughts coaching taught me to recognize and combat are:

  • gremlins- self-doubt- reframe and learn to speak to myself better
  • limiting beliefs- this season I need to be open to possibilities, hard to do when I limit what I believe can happen
  • assumptions- hard but necessary to persevere- keep applying, keep posting, keep on
  • interpretations- help me look at failure as something working FOR me

And finally, coaching taught me to practice self-awareness without judgment-

  • observe- can't know who you are or recognize the thoughts when I'm judging, need to recognize the judgment
  • accept- all thoughts and feelings are OK,
  • love who you are
  • adjust to who you are

how can you get coaching around this?

Before I knew how to use these tools to define who I am, recognize my thoughts and get to know myself without judgment, I kept trying things and running into walls. I wasn't playing to my strengths, I just kept trying to change who I am, become someone I felt I should be.

My work life was misaligned and I was unhappy, falling into bad habits like not exercising.

In a coaching session we can make sure you know what your values are and how you are or aren't bringing them to life in your life. We can talk about the stories you're telling yourself that are influencing your actions or inaction...We can reframe what you know about yourself to help you get what you want

If you could use a session to figure how/if/why you're standing in your way, I'm here for you- book your session wherever you follow me.
